Stanley Mayfield studied Business at Angelo State University and the University of Wisconsin.  

He grew up in a ranching family and he conducts ranching operations in the following Texas counties, Edwards, Sutton, Crockett and Val Verde.  

He is a former President of the Texas Wool & Mohair Warehouse Association and the Sonora Chamber of Commerce and he served as a Director for the Texas Sheep and Goat Raisers.  He is former Regional Director of the National Caves Association, a current member of the International Show Cave
Association and President of the Caverns of Sonora, Inc.   He manages Sonora
Wool and Mohair in Sonora, Texas.  He has actively participated with the Mohair Council of America for many years and has served as a MCA Director and MCA Executive Committee member.  In 2012, he was named President for the Mohair Council of America and currently serves the council in this capacity.
